⚡ Context & Challenges
Based in Paris and Milan, Montefiore Investment is a Private Equity firm supporting SMEs and mid-market companies in their growth and development projects. Currently managing €5 billions of equity, for various sectors such as services, tech, health or even tourism, Montefiore is committed to sustainability, and drawn up a sustainable development roadmap to 2030. In this context, Montefiore intends to provide its investors with relevant information and data regarding its ESG performance. This is why they chose to work with us on the redaction of an ESG report, with the purpose of facilitating their internal communication.
The redaction of this report included several challenges such as:
- Identifying the most relevant indicators to be integrated in the report
- Ensuring consistency with Montefiore's already existing ESG reports, and to improve their clarity
- Reflecting on an efficient and comprehensible data visualisation
We collaborated with Montefiore on the following tasks:
- Find a means to export ESG data from the platform to produce quantitative analyses that would be included in the report
- Select the most relevant data for the report
- Set the right standards to satisfy the various stakeholders (ESG team members, Investor Relations teams, Managing Partners, etc.)
✔️ Solution & results
The first step of the mission was to define with the client the expected framework and graphic format. To do this, we created a report tailored to the context of a management company the size of Montefiore. Once the client agreed on the format, we conducted an analysis of client documentation and integrated it to the report.
The selection of the data to be integrated was made hand in hand with our client, so that the consolidated data would be coherent with old reports. We extracted the data communicated by Montefiore on our platform and used it to validate the scope. We decided which indicators would be included in the report, considering the fact that some had to be excluded from the scope of the analysis. We also checked on the quality of the data, noticing the different evolutions since the beginning of the collection, the methods of calculation and the changes to be made.
We provided Montefiore with two ESG reports, presenting the client’s sustainability strategy, objectives and main KPIs for its portfolio companies.
The final result gives Montefiore the ability to communicate on its ESG performance with its shareholders, and gives the management company more visibility on its portfolio.
